KJR Books

I first read this book on its initial publication and loved it! I find it even better now. I especially admired the heroine who was true to herself in that time of rebellion & the others especially Skull. The poisonous Alec reminded me of a few people who brought their own terrible conventions to the revolution and made it cosy. The treacherous Barbara happily biting the hand that helped her. Like all of Kate Rigby's work it is poignant and gives the 'loser' a chance to shine. I remember Bournemouth and I still love it. Thanks Kate for a good read & one that marks a very special time.
