'...I found this to be a thought-provoking book in many ways. Neighbours are rarely people we would choose to live with, but yet we have to get on with them and tolerate them. The author does a superb job of suggesting how the other neighbours might view Carrie and turn against her for various reasons. The novel does well exploring all the issues that arise when people live so closely together, and how different behaviors can be interpreted in different ways. What seems innocent to someone, can appear threatening to someone else, and so on. There was a twist at the end which I didn't see coming, and overall I found this to be a hugely topical, eye-opening and honest exploration of life in austerity Britain. The characters were all brilliantly constructed, funny and awful, and so true to life. I think we can all recognise these people! Highly recommended to anyone who fancies something a bit different, and of our age.' Amazon Reviewer
